On Thursday, May 3rd, the 14th Congress of the Guangdong Communist Youth League took place in Guangzhou.The overarching theme was “holding high the banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the era of Xi Jinping, and uniting the youth of southern Guangdong to contribute to Guangdong’s achievement of the top four ranks in the country.”

The conference had many important sessions, including the election of representatives for the Guangdong Delegation to the 18th National Congress and the members of the Communist Youth League Committee of the 14th Session of the Guangdong Provincial Committee (alternate members). Both groups will jointly discuss the “Guangdong Youth Medium and Long-Term Development Plan (2018-2025)” Report from the 13thSession of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Guangdong Communist Youth League.

After a series of recommendations, investigations,and elections, Lv Zhong, one of our Environmental Science and Engineering students, has been recommended to the 14th Session of the Communist Youth League of Guangdong province.
