Recently, SUSTech Engineering Technology Innovation Center (Beijing) (hereinafter referred to as the “Innovation Center”) and the Administrative Committee of Suzhou Suqian Industrial Park (SSIP) held the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). On behalf of each side, Fang Wenbang, Deputy Mayor of Suqian City and Hu Qing, Director of the Innovation Center, signed the contract.

During the ceremony, Mr. Fang Wenbang introduced the economic development and environmental protection in SSIP. He pointed out that in the past decade since its establishment, SSIP has attached great importance to its ecological development based on the successful experience of China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park in environmental protection. At present, SSIP has developed into a zone with comprehensive facilities and functions, and has ranked first in the evaluation of industrial park building in Jiangsu Province for seven consecutive years.

Prof. Hu Qing introduced the status quo of the Innovation Center. Depending on the School of Environmental Science & Engineering, the Innovation Center mainly focused on the key environmental technologies’ R&D, engineering development and system integration (SI), as well as promotion and industrialization. It also participated in the draft of national policies, standards and technology guidelines for China’s environmental protection industry and offered technology support and services for the national environmental management, supervision and decisions.

Later, both sides signed a MOU, which signified the beginning of cooperation between the Innovation Center and SSIP in terms of specific areas. With technology advantages in areas such as environmental engineering technology R&D and survey of soil environment, the Innovation Center would offer technology support and services for SSIP in terms of environmental management to further optimize the regional development environment and improve the comprehensive environmental management of SSIP.

Xu Shaojie, Vice Director of Administrative Committee of SSIP, and Chen Tong, Vice Director of the Innovation Center, also attended the ceremony.
