On June 25, Industry-Academia-Research (IAR) Strategic Cooperation Conference on Environmental Protection Technologies was hosted by School of Environmental Science and Engineering in SUSTech. Mr. Wang Piaoyang, President of Beijing Water Business Doctor Co.Ltd, Mr. Gao Chunshan, General Manager of Beijing Water Business Doctor Co.Ltd, Mr. Chen Ke, President of Haigao International Finance and Leasing Co.Ltd, and Mr. Zhang Daixia, Manager of Haigao International Finance and Leasing Co.Ltd attended the conference during their visit to SUSTech. They were joined by President Chen Shiyi, Vice President Wang Duoxiang and Prof. Zheng Chunmiao, Dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering.

Beijing Water Business Doctor Co.Ltd is a listed company focusing on industrial wastewater treatment, with a market value of 15 billion RMB and 1500 employees. In the past ten years, the company has accumulated rich experience in advanced wastewater treatment, solid waste disposal, environmental protection equipment manufacture, ecological environment management, and new materials R&D. On the other hand, with a strong faculty team, School of Environmental Science and Engineering possesses advantages in the basic research and technologies of environmental protection. The two sides, together with Haigao Group who boasts rich fund and capital, proposed to establish partnership based on their comparative advantages. By building up joint research center and IAR platform, they can work in joint effort to develop new environmental protection technologies and train students.

On the conference, Vice President Wang made a brief introduction about the overall development as well as the IAR lay-out of SUSTech, while Mr. Wang Piaoyang introduced Water Business Doctor Company. In addition, Prof. Zheng Chunmiao introduced the basic status of School of Environmental Science and Engineering and some professors showed the guests the school’s strength in the technologies of water treatment, solid waste recycling, soil and groundwater pollution remediation, environmental simulation and decision support system, and water pollution management.

At the end, President Chen extended warm welcome to the two companies and expressed full support to the cooperation with them. 

After the conference, the three parties would continue to exchange ideas on the way of cooperation and other details.
