Basic Introduction:
Prof. Hu Qing graduated from Tsinghua University with her bachelor degree; and obtained her PhD degree from UK Imperial College. Prof. Hu is the director of the Engineering Innovation Center (Beijing) at SUSTech, the professor of the School of Environmental Sciences and Engineering of SUSTech. Prof. Hu was the former member of Nominating Committee for Stockholm Water Prize, Technical Advisory Committee of Global Water Partnership (NGO), and the former committee member of Soil and Groundwater Specialized Committee of China Society of Environmental Sciences. She won (1) the Scientific Research Foundation for the High-Level Returned Overseas Chinese Scholars of MOHRSS in 2011, (2) the Science and Technology Progress Award of Ministry of Education in 2012 and (3) the State Council Special Allowance Experts in 2013. Prof. Hu has more than 30 years researches and working experiences in environmental consulting and soil & groundwater areas, including: Environmental Policy, strategy; Water/waste water treatment; Eco-city planning; Soil Remediation; Environmental Risk Assessment. Prof. Hu has received more than ten patents, and has published the main research achievements in many important domestic and foreign academic journals and international conferences such as Environmental International, Soil Biology & Biochemistry. She has hosted and participated in more than ten national and provincial research projects, including National 863 Program, National Water Pollution Control and Treatment Science and Technology Major Project, Public Science and Technology Research Funds Projects of Environmental Protection; she has managed and completed dozens of site investigation and remediation projects involving complex field of chemical, printing and dyeing, oil, electroplating and other industries. She has rich experience in international cooperation, including participating in Sino-UK Soil & Groundwater Remediation Science & Technology Cooperation Program as the Chinese leading expert (MoST); leading and completing several projects of the World Band and the ADB as the project leader. She has assisted the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and other ministries for the top-level design of the contaminated site remediation industry in our country; hosted and participated in documentation work of industry policies, standards and technical guidelines such as the 13th Five-Year technical route of soil field, technical guidelines for VOCs sampling in soil and groundwater of contaminated sites and technical guidelines for the acceptance of contaminated sites remediation for the Environmental Protection Standard Program.
